Akhand' means non-stop and 'Dhuna' is the Hawan(Noun Form) or the hawan fire and its residue in the Hawan Kund. And here at Dera Baba Rudru Ashram the akhand dhuna is running constantly for the past more than 150 years. It was in the year 1850 A.D. when Shri 1008 Baba Rudra Nand Ji Maharaj (popularly known as Baba Rudru) dig his Chimta under the open sky and started praying and performing the hawan at this place. Sitting in 'Padmasan' regularly at this place under the open sky in a 'langot' no one knew at that time that this place would become so popular in the times to come.The 'vibhuti' (ash/residue of Dhuna) is of a miraculous nature. People around and situated even abroad India in different parts of the world believe in the power of this vibhuti. People from all walks of life visit the ashram from near and far off regularly to worship, do darshan and get this vibhuti. The vibhuti brings relief from all sorts of sadness, unhealthiness and other livelihood problems faced by all. If you are a spiritualist, it could take you to a new stage too, just in the right direction. Young or old, men or women, be it anyone, the vibhuti shows miraculas effects to all.The Dhuna is so famous and worshipable by the villages around for miles that villagers/ farmers offer the first cultivation of anything they bow in their farms, be it vegetables, rice, wheat or anything else, first to this Dhuna and then use it for themselves or sell it further.
